that's how long I waited for this day, since MOTS was officially cancelled - with a quivering heart, through all the uncertanties that almost 4 years hiatus and 7 military enlistments entail. I know they all wanted to come back, wanted for this break to indeed be just a break, but the truth is that 4 years is a long time, and military enlistment (probably) changes everyone.

the time before we left for Paris, I was so super stressed, I barely had time to look forward to it. it was mostly a million other life things so I only had a little energy left to worry about the area we were staying at and how it would turn out to be. and if I would even be able to see anything from how far away our seats were at the concert. 

overall though, I was honestly just happy to be going at all.

when Bangtan was first revealed for Kcon in Paris, I'll be honest, it felt like a bad dream, not a good one.

mainly cos we have not been good at saving for Korea this time. hubs is weak before motorcycles, and I am weak before rare Bangtan merch and new-might-soon-be-oop merch and concert merch and Bighit just have no fucking chill what. so. ever.
so the nice, comfortable, airy travel budget we had hoped for would become a significantly more tight one if we decide to go, and for the longest time I wrestled with whether or not that sacrifice would be worth it. cos as weak as I am before Bangtan, Korea is my main priority.

due to the Sewol tragedy, the 18th Lotte Duty-Free Family Concert had been postponed from..April, I think, until now, and since Bangtan was performing (maybe as replacement for GOT7? who were originally on the schedule, but didn't perform) I was d e s p e r a t e to attend.

a couple of days earlier, when I was checking Bangtan's schedule for fansigns, I did notice that they suddenly had this performance on the program even though I had heard no one talk about it.
but since it was just two days away, and I am completely clueless about how to go about things here in Korea, I just shrugged it off.

but then the next night a sweet new aquaintance, who's also in Korea at the moment, asked if we were going to the concert, and I was like, no cos no tickets and blah blah blah.
then she said to try and search on twitter, cos she had just bought one for 35000 Won. I was completely mind-blown cos 35k?!!? what the hell, why so cheap?!?

she told me to search in Korean, and I told her I don't understand Korean at that level, but in the end I still gave it a shot cos what the hell, it couldn't hurt, right?

so this whole thing came about as sort of a chance thing.
I saw an acquaintance, who's also currently in Korea and doing the whole kpop thing full on, make a questioning tweet about Bangtan maybe doing Open Studio today since this was their comeback day for Dark & Wild.

she wasn't sure so I asked my K friend, Chris, cos since Taemin's currently promoting (I wrote this on the actual day, but I didn't finish it until now. he's not promoting anymore), she's totally on top of music show schedules.
of course she knew and she told me it wasn't Bangtan this week cos it was Taemin. she asked if we were gonna come watch cos she was going there right now. Taemin was having radio schedule in the afternoon so almost all the noonas had gone to watch that, so she figured there wouldn't be that many lining up at the moment.

because this was Berlin we wanted to have as much time there as possible, so after a few hours of sleep we got up at an ungodly 3:30am.
we didn't really expect many people at the airport at 5:45, but much to our surprise this was the most crowded we've ever seen it?! thankfully the security check was really efficient cos there were literally hundreds of people in front of us, but it only took about 10 mins to get through.

of course it wasn't by choice, but having two concerts this close together was hell. I was in the vortex that was Inpi-solo-concert-S-U-N-G-G-Y-U and then having to deal with more fucking flying and more concert jitters.
it would just have been better with at least a week or two apart. not complaining, it just didn't make the past week any easier.

since this world tour was announced on June 10th and it was revealed that Infinite would come to Europe, I've had a stress knot in my stomach every time I've thought about ticketing for this cos it would have killed me to finally have them this close, and not be able to go.

in the world tour teaser Woollim only mentioned London and Paris, but a tour pass from the opening concert in Seoul showed Frankfurt as a 3rd Euro date, so up until the details for the other Euro dates were released we thought we'd have to budget with three trips. but not a peep about Frankfurt were ever heard so it obviously got cancelled for whatever reason.

I am not a superstitious person, but when the security check point person said that our tickets gave him the result "not departing from this airport" after we had checked in both at home AND at an airport self-service machine, I quietly muttered, as we had to trek to the other end of the airport to check in at a service desk, "let's hope this isn't an omen for the trip in general.."

once upon a time on twitter, me and Tia got to talking about Big Bang.
more specifically Big Bang in Europe, and since their Alive World Tour was in full swing, and they had actually included parts all over the world (not like certain other groups who claim world tour, but then stays in Asia) I had long thought about how great it would be if they came to somewhere in Europe cos this is another group both me and hubs like, so less guilt about forcing him to spend a lot of money and come along if they ever set a date here.

so when Tia told me they were having a show in London I was all jaghjdhfjkf!!! apparently it had been confirmed for a while, but since I only have a couple of VIPs on tlist, and I don't talk much Big Bang with them, I was clueless.
but Tia linked me to their Facebook page with all the necessary info, bless her heart.
tickets would be going up for sale "soon" so there was a lovely agonizing waiting period ahead.

A/N: Well this took it's sweet ass time to get out of my head. It turned out very different than my SMTown account, and I'm not all that pleased with it, if I'm being honest.

I think it's safe to say that this trip to Paris had been highly anticipated even since we managed to secure our tickets! SMTown was the most amazing electrifying night ever and we wanted more, so when we got the tickets for Music Bank we thought we were home free. But - to put it mildly - there's been a few bumps along the road.
